Absoluetly, but 32gb ram would be more balanced for that setup. Btw when rendering animations with a lot of frames you still may mant to check out the possibility of using a renderfarm like sheepit or renderstreet or another of the few out there. Source: about 2 years ago

For rendering (i know you're not asking, but it's nice to know) I used cloud render services like render.st and that was a great "helping hand" for my burning little macbook. Source: about 2 years ago

If it's the rendering that's crushing you, then you can use a service like Blendergrid (https://blendergrid.com/) or AWS Blender Render Farm. These services can be a little pricey, but they cut your reliability on another person's computer. Would that work for you? Source: about 1 year ago
