Absoluetly, but 32gb ram would be more balanced for that setup. Btw when rendering animations with a lot of frames you still may mant to check out the possibility of using a renderfarm like sheepit or renderstreet or another of the few out there. Source: about 2 years ago

For rendering (i know you're not asking, but it's nice to know) I used cloud render services like render.st and that was a great "helping hand" for my burning little macbook. Source: about 2 years ago

For rendering go to http://sheepit-renderfarm.com it basically is a client that you can run to render other people’s projects and gain points from doing so and you can then use those points to get other people to render your project, can reduce render times from something like a month to a few hours. I mean - I was studying at the time and rendering on the side for a free renderfarm (shilling). Between that and my everyday work I never had to use my heating through the -15C winter. Source: about 3 years ago
