If I had to do this, I'd probably try to find a youtube video of the game that happens to have the character in it, take a screenshot of the character, and then use a tool like https://removal.ai/ to extract the sprite. Source: about 1 year ago
At this point, I will need to process all of the images that have a white background with remove.bg. I processed a few images with both remove.bg and removal.ai. Removal.ai was pretty average, leaving white around some very easy objects with sharp edges. Remove.bg was the winner here. It's more expensive but worth it. Source: about 1 year ago

Try making the image darker or scarier using filters. Your headshot could use those white outlines or a brush effect to separate it from the background. Still, I'm not really sure about its dependencies: it lists react and @tanstack/react-query (as opposed to @tanstack/query-core) and bundlejs reports 124KB gzipped. Also, while using it, you still need to refer to their react docs (that documentation is really good and has a lot of examples) but not everyone will be thrilled about checking a react documentation when they're using an angular package.
