  • Show HN: Glossarie – a new, immersive way to learn a language
AFAIK, I think the most popular version of this idea is https://readlang.com. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Learning to Listen. El podcast que más recomiendo para el nivel intermedio.
In my own case, I struggled for over a decade, to get anywhere at all useful with Spanish, until someone in this forum recommended readlang.com. I can't speak for anyone else, but for myself: just reading entire stories, as fast as I could, without stopping AT ALL when I ran into an unknown word, or tense, or idiom, made THE critical difference. Before that, every second word was causing me to stop. And... Source: 11 months ago
  • How to use LingQ for free?
If you're going to do this, why not just use something like the free tier of ReadLang? Source: 12 months ago
  • What is your favorite free language learning platform? (app, YouTube videos, Netflix subtitles, websites, etc)
Readlang, but you have to have a basic vocabulary; otherwise it is not easy. Https://readlang.com/ I've had a love and hate relationship with Duolingo for Dutch and French. I'm trying it for Greek now and it seems to have improved over the last few years. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I need some help finding an app to read in a foreign language
I think https://readlang.com/ is similar to LingQ and hast the option to upload files - I have never used it though, so no guarantee the formatting is better. Source: about 1 year ago

  • How to increase traffic organically
Improve your website speed and mobile responsiveness. Google loves websites that load fast. Make sure your pictures aren't heavy. Use apps like TinyJPG. Use the right amount of animation because too much of anything is bad. Source: 9 months ago
  • I'm applying for Golden Visa through gdrfad.gov.ae but the PDF documents should be maximum 100 kB!
Extract the scanned image and resize to make it a bit smaller, then compress the images on tinyjpg.com, merge them all into one pdf file using smallpdf, finally compress the pdf file again on the same website. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Improving image performance on the web.
I'd say that a proper OR recommended approach towards optimizing images for the web is to manually compress them with compression tools like TinyJPG or Squoosh before uploading them to your favorite image CDN. Why? you'd ask me. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • Work in progress, my Pathfinder 2e homebrew world map. Feedback appreciated
Oh and for the file size: compressing is usually better than resizing. And your image is a PNG which is much bigger in size than a JPG and you barely notice the difference. You can use https://tinyjpg.com/ or any proper image editor for good compression or even in Wonderdraft, you can (for sharing on Reddit) better export it as a JPG and at 80% or so. • Image optimization for web
Compress image using commandline tool (convert / jpegoptim) or online tool - https://tinyjpg.com/. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
