  • Check out my new drawing software PainterQt for Windows operating systems!!
PainterQt is an open source drawing software written in C++ using Qt GUI creation technology. PainterQt is a personal project of mine that started with a few lines with the purpose of understanding how Qt's QPainter class works. The program grew and I decided to work on it in a serious project and then distribute it. I would love to see this dream of mine come true, so if you could take a look at the software and... • GUI programming in C++
Qt Looks like native widgets Lots of functionality Event based - can both be intuitive to understand and complex, but is efficient for CPU for typical desktop applications Lots of resources available. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Maui vs the alternatives (Avalonia, Flutter, Electron, etc)
Have you tried Qt? It's a cross-platform framework written in C++. There are also bindings for Qt for other languages that allow you to write code in such languages (like Python). Source: over 1 year ago
  • QML for Python and poor community !!
Can you suggest some tutorials and sources for QML and Python , I can't find any helpful sources (videos on YouTube / Project in github ) , except the qt.io but it's not enough and there are a few examples there . Source: over 1 year ago
  • Point me in the right direction please.
Well, since you mention Qt... Install it with the Online Installer (https://www.qt.io/download-qt-installer, then ignore all the talk about commercial version, you do want the open source version). Just one version of Qt, probably the latest. For Windows, choose MingGW version of Qt and check that the matching MinGW is set to be installed too. If you have trouble, check out the installation instructions (should be... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Distributed Systems: Challenges, Experiences and Tips
About 4 months ago (approximately the last time I wrote something here), I opted to embark on a graduate school journey at Stony Brook University, Computer Science (if you have a remote position — Technical Writer and/or Software Engineer position — at a non-USA company, don't hesitate to reach out). Was it the best decision to make considering less pay (if any), more theoretical undertakings and assumptions, and... - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • Any opinion about tutorialspoint? Getting apparently wrong results
Full of wrong and/or incomplete information. I prefer cplusplus.com when I need to look up some library details. Source: 11 months ago
  • Learning DSA from scratch : The Ultimate Guide
For C++ I would suggest using cplusplus.com. Fantastic resource to use. Source: 11 months ago
  • Things that i should know before gettting into Data Structures and Algorithms??
C++ was far from my first language. I took Modula-2 and FORTRAN in school. I knew about pointers, linked lists, etc before writing my first line of C++. I think the best way to learn is just to work on projects that interest you. Get familiar with online resources. I like cplusplus.com and cppreference.com (can get a little verbose). I'm also a big fan of w3schools.com. They have a good C++ tutorial for beginners. Source: 12 months ago
  • Help
I second this. cplusplus.com will pop up on your searches, I just blocked it. Loaded with ads and slow, and almost always less thorough than cppreference. I found geeksforgeeks OK when learning algorithms - not so much the language itself though. Source: 12 months ago
