  • Going from zathura to neovim
You didn't say what OS you're using, but on linux the best of the poppler-based PDF viewers are probably qpdfview (lighter weight) and okular (heavier but more features), both of which have good synctex support as well. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What are your favorite PDF viewers/editors
I've been happy with qpdfview as my PDF viewer for a couple of years now. I've customized it to have vi-like keybindings (j/k for instance) and it has others features like SyncTeX support and tabs that I want in a PDF viewer. The only thing lacking is support for playing media files, which comes in handy during presentations and such. I don't edit PDFs regularly, but when I do I just import it in Inkscape... • Ask HN: Where does this mate translate language app get its dataset from?
Https://gikken.co/mate-translate/ They have 100+ languages. The user can pick a word, say "Morning" and find it in all 100 plus languages. They also have pronunciation, phrases etc. I checked a few translations and pronunciations in some languages I know, they seem accurate and manual. Are there free dictionaries, datasets, pronunciations they are using? Or did they hire hundreds of people to compile this dataset? - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
