  • skype is using 20/30% of my CPU all the time even when its on the idle mode.
If that helps then you can try Process Lasso to automate this. Source: 5 months ago
  • CS2 Performance - Intel 12/13/14gen users should DISABLE E-Cores!
CoreDirector is pretty straight forward and easy to use, but on my machine it caused micro-stutters even if I had higher frames. I used Process Lasso to do this, which should be the same thing CoreDirector does, but it worked better for me. Source: 5 months ago
  • Another (possible) Fix for the 5 seconds stuttering (Even on SSD)
If BES doesn't work for you, you can try Project Lasso for free: https://bitsum.com/. On this one, I've set the CPU Limiter to when the process reach 85% for 2 seconds, limit by 1 core for 1 second. You can also reduce the CPU affinity to one less core using the Windows Task Manager but this will impact the frame rate. Source: 7 months ago
  • Im still on the fence about switching to Linux. (Questions in post)
I use process lasso to assign priority, cores, powerplans and 0.5ms timer resolution to processes to improve performance. (something to manage a process once run like powerplans). Source: 7 months ago
  • Far Cry 4 stutters killed me
All right, here are two possible solutions I know of: Firstly you can limit the number of cores the game is using, which can increase your FPS significantly (and potentially fix the stutter as well). Why? Because Far Cry 3 and 4's optimalization on PC sucks ass, and the newer the PC setup, the more likely it will have problems with both games. How to set CPU affinity: 1. Open the game. 2. Once in-game, press... Source: 10 months ago

  • Weirdest chain of events after blue screen Win 11
What I've done before this happened: 1. Updated Windows to latest build (which is again asking me to since I restored to previous restoration point). 2. Installed "SoundSwitch" to switch with hotkeys between different sound outputs. Source: 5 months ago
  • Do people EQ speakers?
Https://soundswitch.aaflalo.me/ can also come in handy. It can make switching sound outputs much easier (again, a key combo can toggle between several outputs). Source: 10 months ago
  • Seamless switching between headphones and PC speakers?
I use SoundSwitch for switching between mt Steeleseries and speakers. I really like my headphones but find it extremely annoying they can't have a normal aux out so could just use a cable splitter. It is the reason I will never buy another set. Source: 10 months ago
  • (Windows) Automatically switch between G Pro X wireless and speakers
Download SoundSwitch so you can switch between sources with hotkeys. Source: 11 months ago
  • blue yeti nano
If that doesn't work look at your Sounds/Recording settings and make sure the mic is the default input device. Then (IIRC the nano also has audio passthrough) if you are 'monitoring' or using the sound card in your mic for output make sure it is the default Playback device. I suggest using a free utility that will let you toggle through between your default outputs and recording devices with a keyboard shortcut... Source: 12 months ago
