7 Best Transactional Email Services: Sendgrid vs. Mandrill & More
Postmark are the most expensive transactional email service (10x the cost of Amazon SES), so what do they do to justify the sky high pricing? Their focus seems to be on providing a high-end service using only the best hardware and software to keep your receive rates high, and your data secure. The impression I get with Postmark is that they’re one of the more transparent...

  • 7 Best Transactional Email Platforms in 2024 Compared 📬
Postmark is a transactional email service based in Chicago, Illinois. Postmark was a bootstrapped company founded in 2009 by two co-founders. After years of running the company together, the founders decided to step away and sold Postmark to ActiveCampaign in May 2022. - Source: dev.to / 10 days ago
  • Ask HN: What do you recommend for SaaS broadcast emails?
I use Postmark (https://postmarkapp.com/) for transactional emails OnlineOrNot has an email-only auth option, and it was the only provider I found that could actually deliver emails in a second or so (rather than minutes). - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

  • How do people send system messages to (human) clients these days?
When building apps/websites I often need to send messages to the business owner / admin. The messages range from almost logging type messages such as - "Payment failed for Order 123, please manually process the transaction" to generic contact forms on a website: - "FirstName LastName sent a message with the following text: something something something" My knowledge is rather old and currently I just send email... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • how I got customer onboarding right
Sendgrid, Mailgun, or Postmark are great solutions if you have a need for transactional emails that are technical. I still prefer using Customer.io for this need. If you’re unsure what transactional emails are, check out this guide. Source: 9 months ago

  • Do you use an additional tool aside from JIRA?
Admittedly, this is an issue with organization and can be solved with thorough cleanups, but I suspect that may disrupt the usual flow of non-PM people more. I am thinking of using a separate tool like craft.io or productboard.com to highlight strategies, roadmaps, cross-team initiatives, discoveries, etc. With a possible link to JIRA somehow. Has anyone ever tried this? Source: about 2 years ago
  • Think twice before using AGE in PotgreSQL
Recently my friend at Productboard noticed an interesting bug in one of our services. For some reason our code responsible for calculating how many days our customers' features spend in certain states (Idea, Discovery, Delivery, etc) in some cases would give us wrong results. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago

  • Ask HN: What software do you use to gather requirements?
I use ProductBoard. It's fairly expensive but pretty great. I gather requirements into PB and use the inbuilt editor to flesh them out. When a story is ready I push a button and it ends up in Trello (but you can add your own integrations; there's one for github for example). The integrations aren't perfect but I love it. Used it in my last job and brought it in at my current job. https://productboard.com. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
