I have to say that I own these too. The Female one is awful But the Male one is pretty useful. It is heavily Anime stylized But male one Works. As for the female one... The best way I like to get better a poses is to warm up with line of action. Then ill find poses with pose tool. You can find most poses for free there but if its not quite at the right angle I use it in tandem with pose my art where you can make a 3D model of the pose. It's hard to imagine you've not seen Google's doodle guessing training (or their other experiments) but it's just another example of how little information you actually need to create a recognizable image, though Canvas also shows this off, but it has the benefit of material information.
