  • Looking for a simple VST hosts to just *play* my keyboard
I was just going to add that you can check out pluginboutique.com for some free stuff and some of it - not all of it - is pretty awesome. A favorite of mine is Ample Guitar lite and Ample Bass lite. Source: 12 months ago

  • Question. Where are you buying your VSTS, Plugins, Samples, etc... And Why?
I've been pretty happy with pluginboutique.com. They usually have a good freebie every month that comes with whatever you buy from them. Last time, I got the Cherry Audio CA2600 synth for free when I bought a cheap $10 plugin. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What’s a brand-new-beginner friendly program to do mix, tune, time, etc? And any tips also? /gen
There's also hundreds of decent free legal plug-ins to download like at pluginboutique.com or there's plenty of youtube channels that review free plug-ins. It's a real deep rabbit hole. Learn the plug-ins that come with Reaper first. Don't blame the plug-ins if you don't sound good. There's also hundreds of youtube channels out there to help you learn how to mix, beware that some of these are adverts. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Plug ins in S1
KVRAudio is a good place to look for new plugins both commercial and free. If you're looking for higher end plugins, Plugin Boutique is also good. They also have pay to own plans for certain items so you don't have to pay full-price right away. Source: over 1 year ago

  • [GEAR] recording software
If you are wanting to make complete tracks the answer gets a lot more complicated. You could still go with something like Reaper but I'm going to make two recommendations for DAWs to try based on personal experience. The first I'd recommend trying is Cubase which is the DAW I currently use and have been using for a decent amount of time. I love it for a vast number of reasons but I think that Cubase is great...
