There was an old website called playlist.com. I had just discovered it and was searching for the Tracy Bonham song "Mother Mother", which I loved but hadn't heard in years. I couldn't find the song, but what did pop up was a song called "Dirty Town" by the band Mother Mother. I clicked it out of curiosity and holy shit. Unfortunately, this was back in the days when I would listen to stuff on websites like playlist.com that I think people would edit titles or download pirated music, so it's never very accurate. Source: over 2 years ago

I'm not sure if this would fit all your needs aside from running on Linux but Ampache [1][2] has been around for a very long time and has the ability to mesh with other instances. Ampache. I've been using it for a while and it's great. I'd suggest using it with Ample, as Ample's UI is better. It supports the Subsonic API, so subsonic clients will work with it. It also supports DAAP and uPnP, for other clients. It has it's own API as well, but not many apps use that. Source: over 1 year ago
