(Canada) Does anyone know of an API service that will users to connect with their personal bank and return things like their bank feed?
Yeah I fully expect to pay, but I am sure there are companies that do this. It's simply reading data, I am not touching anything within the user's bank account. Places like Australia are quite big on open banking I believe, that allows, with proper verification, to access bank account information. Am I selfish?
Get a fresh bank account without him; credit unions can be good for this. Make sure it's not at a bank that he frequents...you don't want the teller to be "helpful" and clue him in on things. I used to recommend simple.com for a debit card, but they have sold out to PNC. Source: almost 2 years ago
