If you do find a way to hide app menus you might consider using Paletro or a similar extension for an automation tool, I know Alfred has a workflow for it, I'm guessing Raycast, Launchbar and maybe even Keyboard Maestro do to. How is performance these days? I used to use it or an alternative workflow and there was always a few second lag when I activated the workflow in each respective app for the first time after rebooting. I understand that year-round weather might be important factor for you. But I would still say that the fundament of nomad lifestyle (both historical and current) is following important patterns (of weather, animals, prices, interests...), so whether somewhere one of this factor is stable (year-round) is not so important when you are nomad, as you can harmonise your changing places with the change of these...
