Outdoorsy.com, or craigslist... Prob is going to be the miles. How about a U haul van, just say you are moving across the country... Seeing all the parks might be a stretch on that budget. Consider doing 1-2 regions, like the west/southwest.. Midwest/south. Less miles and you will see plenty. Frankly, the driving from monument to monument sucks... like sucks for days... Try sonder.com - my friend used them before in chicago and really liked the space and service. Not sure what the monthly cost break out is, but a good temporary solution. I'd recommend doing that short term and them finding a more permanent location afterward. Source: over 2 years ago
AirBNB and sonder.com have great rates for 7+ and 30+ day stays, and when I'm in transit and not sure which town I will be in the Hotel Tonight app works well.
