Consider taking a trip in a rental, like outdoorsy.com to see how your family does in a given RV. Sure it is expensive, but could save you from dropping over $100k on a machine you need to maintain and store and regret having. Source: 10 months ago
Outdoorsy.com, or craigslist... Prob is going to be the miles. How about a U haul van, just say you are moving across the country... Seeing all the parks might be a stretch on that budget. Consider doing 1-2 regions, like the west/southwest.. Midwest/south. Less miles and you will see plenty. Frankly, the driving from monument to monument sucks... like sucks for days... We rented through Escape camper vans! It seemed to be the easiest/cheapest. outdoorsy.com is another one. Rent America is another one, but they are more RVs and a little pricier. Source: about 1 year ago
You can look on outdoorsy.com (renting directly from owners) but we went through escape camper vans. Theyre 5 miles north from the airport so we will scoop the van and head to the Gorge! Source: about 1 year ago
There are camper van rental places similar to Airbnb, like outdoorsy.com or RVshare.com. Outdoorsy offers discounts for 7+ days or 30+ days. You could fly to your start point and have the RV waiting for you at the airport. Source: about 1 year ago
I'd rent a car or a camper van (check outdoorsy.com) and do a road trip. Something like (Glacier national park > Grand Tetons > Yellowstone), (Rocky Mountain National Park > Breckenridge > Utah), or (Drive up the California coast on Highway 1 > Big Sur > Yosemite > Redwood National Park). I recently traveled to canada and rented a car (camper/suv), none of us were over 25, so we rented directly through someone we found on a rental site, i.e. We were not able to use the websites insurance policy. Long story short, he is refusing to give back 90% of our security deposit for various BS reasons, such as the included tent being broken (although we told him it was already broken from the beginning of the... If you ever want to rent, try rvshare.com or outdoorsy.com - it's rentals from private individuals. Never use Cruise America - there's been horror stories on this sub about them. Source: almost 2 years ago
There are some options like outdoorsy.com where you can rent a camper van/camper truck. Source: almost 2 years ago
Rent a van for the weekend from outdoorsy.com, if you like it then go for it. Source: almost 2 years ago
Im planning on renting a van from outdoorsy.com and was wondering if there was specifications on which vans were allowed for the camping grounds. Does anyone know what the rules are as far as camping in minivans/vans/sprinter vans. Please let me know! Source: about 2 years ago
Have you tried looking into sites like https://rvshare.com or https://outdoorsy.com? I don’t have experience with either, but just know that they exist. Source: over 2 years ago
Borrow, borrow, borrow. If you can't buy a house in your town, buy one an hour away. If you can't afford one there, buy an RV. Rent out the house (or list the RV on outdoorsy.com or RVshare). This is not a joke. I have five mortgage, six properties, and do airbnb arbitrage. My most recent house purchase was four months ago (and four hours from my actual home). Source: over 2 years ago
Hi Kristee, thanks for your response. Due to scrambling around I found an RV on outdoorsy.com that I am going with at the moment. Hopefully this pans out. Source: almost 3 years ago
Another option: https://outdoorsy.com. Source: almost 3 years ago
Of course. Just to throw a couple other suggestions out there. Take a peek at outdoorsy.com should you be so inclined to consider a long weekend and potentially rent a camper. It's pretty sweet. Recreation.org is also a really good website. I did this both this year and last year and have an absolutely great time and really good way to get out of town without that much contact/exposure to people. Source: almost 3 years ago
