I want to buy something like TrackIR (I don't know much about equivalent products). My friend told me about a DIY tracker that I could use (opentrack). Source: over 1 year ago
Out of curiosity, do you have a formed opinion on Opentrack for 6DOF support? It would be cool to have a little input plugin from your software for the XREAL into Opentrack! I usually play Il-2 1946 and other flight sims on a docked Steam Deck, and opentrack + android phone with AI recognition is a god send. Source: over 1 year ago
I think you’ve got the wrong sub. But I thank you. I’ve learnt a load figuring out your acronyms! For anyone not following trackir is this https://www.trackir.com/trackir5/ (which looks remarkably similar to a head mouse extreme which you can’t buy). It’s head tracking. Not eyegaze. If you have a decently modern phone you can get the smoothtrack app on your phone for $10. You can use that as an input for opentrack. I've been using that for a while, and it seems to be working well. Apparently you can also use a regular webcam in opentrack using aitrack, but I haven't personally used it so I can't vouch for how well it works. Source: almost 2 years ago
I got the game on Steam sale a while ago, messed about for few hours using mouse, not really much fun. Few weeks back snagged a joystick on sale, installed https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack to use with basic webcam for head tracking, works amazingly well. All in all, about $30 spent for amazing sim experience, well worth it. Source: about 2 years ago
We created an AI-powered eye tracking (and head tracking) PC software called Eyeware Beam ( https://beam.eyeware.tech/ ) that only requires a standard webcam. We're a deep tech team and developed the technology in-house. As you probably expect, it is less accurate and illumination robust than dedicated infrared trackers (like a Tobii 5), but good enough to enhance many gaming use cases. Most of our users are... I literally just bought this last night. Works with just a webcam and is shockingly accurate. https://beam.eyeware.tech/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Happy to learn from you how we can make it better. Thanks in advance for your feedback! https://beam.eyeware.tech. Source: almost 2 years ago
We don't have any tear detection built into our Eyeware Beam tracker yet. I've seen youtubers implement solutions linked to tazers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR11BkzZ8NU. That might help generate the tears.:17737:. Source: about 2 years ago
Check out https://beam.eyeware.tech Now. The truth of this is you just cannot get the resolution for accurate eye tracking. But it’s enough for calculating gross position. Source: over 2 years ago
