openITCOCKPIT creates transparency by providing comprehensive monitoring of your entire IT landscape. I was a nagios with nconf (long time not supported) die hard, however, I have recently switched to https://openitcockpit.io/ which has a great configuration web interface, it supports nagios plugins. They have a free trial, and the license cost for 1-100 servers is only $1500. That (or any similar tool) will give you a baseline of what you're working with in a centralized database.
