You can sign-up with minimal details and digitally check out many scanned books from libraries all over the world.   For more routine work that isn't as deep but is still cognitively demanding, I usually stay at my desk and put on a post-rock playlist and https://mynoise.net/ on top of it (I like Irish coast), so loud that any other noise gets blocked out.
