I’m 🙈 like everyone else about writing directly into the AO3 editor (don’t know about Wattpad, does that autosave?) – even a browser-based alternative that autosaves like online notepad app, ompad, zenpen or an etherpad would be safer for writing (not for storing drafts ofc). For your examples given, I use Hemingway Editor to cut down on my adverbs. Adverbs aren't bad, but I want a stronger punch with my writing and cutting down on adverbs helps (for me). It forces me to expand on the action. Passive voice is one I need to work on, personally. Cut them down, along with adverbs, I think, helps your writing a great deal. Source: 10 months ago
