very simple to use. and if you're having trouble you can go to their discord and they will help you out. Much better than forge, more mod viarity and you can even reccomend mods on their discord.

Right now the official Minecraft VR is absolutely terrible if you have java I suggest Vivecraft or MCXR. I use MCXR because of the sodium support. If you want you can try ploud os https://ploudos.com/en/ which is a free Minecraft hosting service that allows java-bedrock crossplay(check the faq).
