  • RSS Feed Organization Strategies and New Feed Cost
    >> I'd love a RSS reader that groups items on the same topic. We had the same concern for everyday industry news, and so did some of our customers, so we built it a while back! Our Newsroom feed reader uses NLP and ML to groups similar articles for low-noise research/reading: https://newsloth.com/#features Currently, it detects and groups articles from around 200 popular global news sites, and gradually growing to... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use in 2022?
For many years, I used Feedity for generating RSS feeds from webpages without one. They've since renamed to New Sloth, and also have a nice although basic feed reader. I like its article grouping feature, and use the whole package (feed creation and reading) for my research work on a daily basis. https://newsloth.com. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • “We removed the RSS feed since this technology became obsolete”
RSS may be obsolete from a marketing perspective (i.e. Lack of visible RoI), but its growing in other areas like media monitoring, podcast delivery, RSS-to-newsletter etc. * * Shameless plug * *: our duper-easy feed builder at New Sloth (formerly Feedity) - https://newsloth.com, helps create custom feeds for any public webpage. Our API can auto-magically detect relevant articles in most cases. The platform... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

  • Feed43.com Death Watch
Thanks very much for your attention to the feed43.com situation. Since its servers continue to work (for now), I wonder if feeds might still function post 9 Jan by substituting the IP address (66.228.47.94) for the domain name? Also, I notice that the registrar (gandi.net) allows anyone (even if not the current owner) to renew the domain name at a charge of 19.08 euro per year. Obviously, though, the only real... • Use RSS for privacy and efficiency
Some readers have such option build-in (e.g. FreshRSS). There are also services like: https://createfeed.fivefilters.org/ https://feed43.com/ https://politepol.com/en/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • Those using RSS / feed readers, what do you do about sources you're interested that don't have RSS feed or decided to drop it?
Funny you should ask, I just rebuilt my tt-rss. I installed an extension to search for any existing feeds that weren't obviously published, and found a few I didn't know about. For those that had none I looked at rss bridge at the like but most had a set list of feeds, whereas the most problematic for me were obscure web comics, so I went back to feed43 to generate a feed for them.
