  • Suggestions for HELOC provider?
My mortgage holder, Wells Fargo, no longer offers HELOCs. I browsed bankrate.com and nerdwallet.com and see many providers, but only a few banks. I do not recognize many of the companies on the list. (Ex: https://www.nerdwallet.com/mortgages/heloc-rates). Source: 9 months ago
  • Can I get a mobile home with no credit?
I would try renting first and when you are happy where you are and with your job for awhile consider getting a new homebuyers loan. Also, you need to work on your credit for that to happen. Call a bank and ask about a prepaid credit card. Then use that card to pay a small monthly bill (3-7% of the allotted credit) that you can have taken straight out of your checking account (at that same bank or a different one).... • Is Minnesota liberal?
Tough choice between Minneapolis and Portland. I'd stay away from DC personally. I love it here in Minnesota, but have friends just outside Portland who like it there as well. Both areas have good schools in the suburbs and are great cities. I think public transit is better in Portland is better and you can't beat the wilderness opportunities in Oregon, but Minnesota has a TON of great parks and wilderness as... Source: 12 months ago

  • APR for Credit Cards - Discover It Card; False Advertising and Lies?
You appear naiive in every sense of the word. Stop getting your info from your "trusted adult" or reddit for that matter. Get your credit report and scores from the only trusted sources: MyFico or Annual Credit Report. Read the government housing websites, or even go over to the forum community on MyFico, which I personally like. If you follow through, you won't need to ask questions like this. Source: 5 months ago
  • Stuck at 741 - Card Recommendation Please
Yeah, we all have 40+ different credit scores. Your CK scores are "legit" in terms that they're accurate VS3 (VantageScore 3.0) it's just that VS3 is rarely used in lending decisions which makes them nearly irrelevant. Fico scores are used the the majority of lending decisions, with Fico 8 being the most commonly used model today. The Fico 9 you are getting is lesser used than Fico 8 since few lenders adopted... • What information shows up on a "hard pull" and "soft pull" of a credit report?
When a company does an inquiry without your requesting it, like for a "pre-qualified" offer for a credit card, that's a soft inquiry and it doesn't show as a hard inquiry on your credit report. You can also check your OWN credit like on myfico.com, and that's a soft inquiry. Background checks are also in this category. Source: 10 months ago
