I have always been worried abou the fact that my photos were not stored on the cloud privately. Meaning anyone with the access to the server could see my photos. I am glad that I found ente. It's end to end encrypted

It has been years since I was involved with this company, but at the time I worked there, Mylio was very much concerned with this problem, and a brief look at the FAQ suggests that the goals have not changed: https://mylio.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
This is an issue for YEARS in icloud. Apples cloud is a mess since me.com... I also had a huge (about 2.5TB) photos library. I switched to mylio.com - in general its a great alternative. Source: 11 months ago
Does it have to be OSS and free? Otherwise Mylio might be the way. Source: over 1 year ago
I use mylio https://mylio.com/ and have been very happy with its cross device and platform sync and backup in conjunction with my QNAP NAS. Source: over 1 year ago
Now, if you also have a PC and want to keep , say, 20 thousand DLSR or Mirrorless camera photos along with smartphone photos, a tool called Mylio syncs photos peer-to-peer (no cloud) across devices. It has some decent editing functionality (tagging, rating, keywords, albums) if that matters. https://mylio.com. Source: over 1 year ago

How is it compared to https://ente.io/ ? - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
I can highly recommend Ente Photos[0]. It has automatic backup, and a very good replication architecture for maximum reliability[1]. It's also super easy to use and everything is encrypted by default. [0] https://ente.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

> there is no better alternative If your primary device is Android, please check out Ente[1]. We are an E2EE alternative to Google Photos. We had launched on HN[2] a while ago, and have been working towards feature parity. We aren't "there" yet, but hope to soon be. If you've any feedback, please share it with vishnu@ente.io, I'd be grateful! [1]: https://ente.io [2]: - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
