  Well you can go to mubi.com and sign up directly with them. I did this with BFI and tried to do it with Shudder but for BFI their web player wasn't as good as Prime and with Shudder I literally couldn't get the website to accept any of my cards. • I commend Google for doing the right thing

  Well this was only done because we were promised access to games on the cloud. If they started a new line of products/hardware like the pixel watch and it fails, don't expect to get your $ back. This is a super rare case. It would be like vudu.com shutting down after you paid for 100 movies. I'd expect them to let me download my movies or transfer them to another live service.
