You can buy another coin, for example Litecoin, on your exchange, and then use a non-KYC exchange service like morphtoken.com, changenow.io, or fixedfloat.com, to exchange it for Monero. That might be easier than going through the KYC process at Kraken, though Kraken is probably the best (most trusted and good liquidity) place to get Monero. Source: over 2 years ago

Actually, I apologize. It's a website called "morphtoken.com", for trading into Monero, they charge a flat fee of 0.00008 XMR and then a variable network fee of between 0.5% to 0.7% of the bid/ask spread. (I would assume they are acting as a sort of OTC market maker.). Source: about 3 years ago

Also, there’s always been a risk of KYC (Know Your Customer) on CEXes as mentioned several times. This was all meant to be decentralized and keep our identity under wraps and retain that anonymity that crypto was originally designed for… and you get a hold of your keys. Source: 10 months ago

I've purchased a Trezor model T from what I believe is the official Trezor website (https://trezor.io/). Is it rational for me to have a slight fear that it isn't a legit trezor and maybe the chip is compromised, possibly being able to send off my seed to an unknown party? Source: 11 months ago
