Gigs for Animal Lovers: Here’s a Look at the Top Pet-Sitting Apps
Care.com works like most freelance platforms, where you can create a profile for free, list your expertise and set your hourly rates. There is a paid membership option, which gives access to additional features that improve your profile’s visibility and grant early access to job listings.
2020 will be a big year for online childcare — here are 7 startups to watch
Over the weekend, media and digital brand holding company IAC announced that it had agreed to buy Care.com, which describes itself as “the world’s largest online family care platform,” in a deal valued at about $500 million. Despite being the best-known marketplace in the United States for finding child and senior caregivers, Care.com has spent the past nine months dealing...

5 Questions with Isabela Nunez and Silvia Travesani of Campanizer
Travesani: We have competition. Other companies in the space, like Sawyer, Care.com Explore (formerly Galore), and ActivityHero, have focused on provider registration technology and activity directories. Our emphasis on parent coordination leads to faster growth, higher activity registration rates and drives the sought-after word-of-mouth lead generation for activity providers.

  • Ceramic Frogs: A throwback to what hiring was like in the 90's
It used to be (years if not decades ago) that a job description posted to ba.jobs.offered or the fledgling monster.com was probably a pretty fair take on what was needed for the job, and it was often written by the hiring manager with input from their team. Nowdays it's more likely a piece of corporate boilerplate assembled by HR, passed along to 3rd party recruiters, with some vague input from the hiring manager... Source: 11 months ago
  • Can Crowdstrike Falcon Windows sensor Maverick record websites I have been to?
Hi there. Falcon is EDR, so it can see the domain names you connect to, but not what you're doing on those domains. Example, let's say you go to monster.com and apply to 50 jobs. All Falcon is going to see is:. Source: 11 months ago
  • My editing internship is over, what are my next steps?
All experience is valuable. You have to constantly be learning. You don't even know right now, what you don't know. You probably have no idea of what it takes to be an assistant editor - even though you have been doing completed videos for your non profit. Your next step is to find video companies in your area (every state has a film commission, they all have a film production directory) - look at Production... Source: 11 months ago

  • Care.com struggles
Just like most online narrative reviews people would rarely have reason to come here and post "I love care.com I just found a nanny!" it's a pointless post, people only tend to post to complain or get help with an issue. Care.com is more popular than ever and in most markets it's far and away the most popular app outside of Facebook and its various groups. I like the site but can still acknowledge its gotten worse... • Asking for industry standards led to me quitting
I'm glad you stood up for yourself, in this situation, but a word of caution that much like how the care.com calculator skews low, that one skews a bit high and can fluctuate. I just looked it up and for my area I am making what it suggests...for twins. I have the highest rate I know of (mind you, only after generous raises). I've talked to other nannies with more experience who make up to $5 less than me. Look at... Source: 6 months ago
  • What to do when parents sell their house.
Absolutely don't go into any home that's not government funded. If you have extra cash, pay it to hire someone through, e.g., care.com to visit your Dad in the home and provide extra assistance. Much cheaper to pay for some extra support in a publicly funded facility than to go into a 100% privately-funded one. Source: 6 months ago
