Websites run by centuries old establishments of fine journalism can look exactly the same as blog spam or straight up fake news websites run by some random internet weirdo. If you're interested in reading more about current event in Russia, Meduza is a good source. You will need Google translate to read it though. It's an independent website that used to write about lots of different things, but now mostly focuses on current events.
