If you don't have a Linux installation yet, you can install appropriate tools like https://raylin.wordpress.com/downloads/md5-sha-1-checksum-utility/ under Windows. With the Powershell it would also be possible, but it is a bit cumbersome. Source: over 1 year ago

It’s definitely possible. I used the MD5 & SHA checksum utility (https://raylin.wordpress.com/downloads/md5-sha-1-checksum-utility/). Then selected the the files and verified the the SHA on the website 8b5f37eb6b2d0534cbbc490986f23d7fb470697b7839ac1305499c4675f1ea11. Source: over 2 years ago

For my drives at work, I use Eraser. It'll let you wipe entire drives or just unallocated space. A single pass of all zeroes is sufficient (listed as British HMG IS5 (Baseline) (1 pass)" in the program. Source: 10 months ago

I usually have my drive accessible on a windows box and use https://eraser.heidi.ie/ to fill up all the unused space with pseudorandom data at 1 pass. I call that good for my usage. Source: 11 months ago

Use Eraser https://eraser.heidi.ie it overwrites the data; you can set how many times you want it to do. Depending a how big the drive is it could take a long time. Source: 11 months ago
