Regarding parsing speed tree-sitter is without a doubt performant since it is written in Rust, but I don't have any problems "parsing on every keystroke" with a setup containing Marked[3], highlight.js[4] and a sanitizer. GPT API returns data in markdown format. You can parse it using a Markdown library and string manipulation. I guess since the last promotion I've mostly just provided comments to (powerpoint) presentations of others rather than having to create one myself. It's been so long since then that I wouldn't be able to recall what my setup even is at this point, but I believe I did research and chose sli.dev in the end.
