  • Windy.com: global weather website with live filters
It is based on mapy.cz [1] - Outdoor layer. It is mostly OSM based (plus lot of their own data for Czechia and Slovakia). Mapy.cz belongs to same guy, who runs Windy (Ivo Lukačovič [2]). IMHO it is best readable map on the internet and when I am used to it, I cant find anything on Google Maps. [1] https://en.mapy.cz. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • What are these marks in the Czech Republic?
As many people pointed out, those are hiking marks. What I didn't see anyone mention is that when you go on en.mapy.cz you can turn on "outdoor map" with all the hiking trails. The colour of the trail in map matches their specific colour on the tree/pole etc... Great way to plan your trip! Source: 11 months ago
  • I would like some travel advice
You don't have to worry about unsafe places or anything like that - just be careful about tourists traps in Prague - use only ATMs from proper banks, try to avoid small corner shops in the city center as they are overpriced etc. Check honest guide prague on youtube for more information. Use this website for public transport https://idos.idnes.cz/en/vlakyautobusymhdvse/spojeni/ you can find all possible connections... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for recommendations for sunset spots and day trips from Brno
Btw. https://en.mapy.cz/ with outdoor layer are much better then google maps. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Schutzhütte (interactive) maps?
You can use a service like en.mapy.cz to display it. If you enter "Schutzdach" or "Tourist shelter" there, you should get a pretty comprehensive map of locations. Source: about 1 year ago

  • First EV Trip
Obviously I'm being a little sarcastic, but I'm serious as well. ABRP answers about 90% of such questions, and plugshare.com answers the remaining ones ("how reliable are the chargers at XYZ location?"). Source: 6 months ago
  • New Ariya owner, any tips?
You can check recent check-ins at those chargers and find others in https://plugshare.com. Source: 9 months ago
  • I don't have EV, but can I charge my portable power station with a Tesla charging pile in supercharger station? Besides, I can't find a place near me to recharge my battery.
HOWEVER, you can setup to charge at a J1772 Level-2 charging station which are ALL over the place and often free. Checkout plugshare.com to find them. These are essentially fancy 220v chargers and can be converted to charge power banks and onboard batteries.... The question then becomes the legality of doing it in your area. Some places are designated "EV charging only." You're not an EV. Some places, like Oregon... Source: 11 months ago
  • First time EV user - what do I need to do to ensure a good experience ?
Before taking a trip and planning to rely on public chargers, check recent checkins to make sure the chargers you plan to use are working properly and to identify backup options just in case: http://plugshare.com. Source: 11 months ago
  • What portable power station is best/cheapest to charge my Leaf?
Use plugshare.com to find EV charging stations near your gym, grocery stores, restaurants, and other places were you spend some time. Not as inexpensive or as convenient as having a charger at your parking space. But probably much cheaper and convenient then your solution. Source: 11 months ago
