I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it. Your paths are "fine", but they're not great. If you have multiple drives, you might also be interested in mergerfs to skoosh them all into "one" path, like /merge. Source: 12 months ago
