There are free open source accounting programs, check out Manager (manager.io). - Source: Reddit / 1 day ago
I do the bookkeeping for two companies. I've started shadow-bookkeeping one of the companies in Manager (see manager.io). A discussion of the pros & cons of Manager vs. Quickbooks is out of scope for this thread. I'll just say that Manager is a very interesting animal! - Source: Reddit / 7 days ago
I'm looking into this and this looks like a ginormous clusterf**k that is going to make moving to manager.io one of the biggest pain in the asses I've ever dealt with. After finally figuring out how to format my customers for batch importing, when it imports it imports the addresses all on one line, even though they are formatted with returns. As much as I'd love to use this new program I think the amount of work... - Source: Reddit / 13 days ago
I've been using manager.io for our small business and it works fine, just that the bank connectivity feature is limited, thus I tried to move to QB and ended up with subscribing to QBO. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
Manager may be an option too. I had a cursory look at it a few years ago but didn't delve in too deeply, so don't know how well it handles the features OP is looking for. Pretty sure it won't have the OCR document processing. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
You mentioned you've had the budget conversation multiple times - I'm a big YNAB (youneedabudget.com) fan, and having money earmarked for every possible scenario and then having "fun money" was the key to me spending money on myself guilt-free. - Source: Reddit / 28 days ago
You Need A Budget might be a good alternative. It's not free, but it does offer a free trial with payment sign up after (so if you decide it's not for you there's no anxiety about canceling in time). The set up is that you assign a use for every dollar, and as you have money come in and out you approve and categorize every transaction. I personally find it makes me be more accountable to where my money is going. - Source: Reddit / 30 days ago
I, too, use youneedabudget.com. It and mint.com sync with your bank and credit card accounts; making it easy to track spending. mint.com is free, but is more reactive to your spending habit. YNAB uses zero-based budgeting. It's a bit more hands on, but I've saved a lot more money using YNAB than I did with mint.com. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
Thanks for helping. Chrome: go to youneedabudget.com. The url is https://youneedabudget.com. So I assume the desktop site. I check settings in ipad settings > Chrome nothing about mobile or desktop. I check in Chrome (… menu) no settings link, no mobile/desktop link. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
