If you don’t have strict demand on the output video format (since it’s only limited to MKV),...

  • Beta Key?
Just re-download the install package from makemkv.com and run it, it will ask to remove old install then allow you to reinstall then the key resets. (do this until the new key is released). Then down the road if you like it you can always get the paid lifetime license. Source: 6 months ago
  • It is important that ebooks be sold without DRM
If you haven’t already, you should check out MakeMKV. You can buy it or use it free with the beta keys, and it should solve your problem. https://makemkv.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Need help from someone smarter than myself
You’ll need a Blu-ray or UHD Friendly Blu-ray drive. Visit https://makemkv.com https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/ to learn more about it as they can explain it better. Also there is lots of support on YouTube: the is Lon.TV, He makes an entire series on PleX https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCZHp4d1HnIvqJPAmMooCKOHieLdi3I7o. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I'm looking for software that I can use to categorise my audiobook and DVD rips.
Or you could use Makemkv and Extract audio coppy. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Completely new to this...please go easy. I want to be able to play my music and movie collection throughout my home and have a few questions to get me going.
Plex doesn't support disc image formats like ISO, so you would have to extract the video itself before Plex could read them (e.g. With MakeMKV). Source: about 1 year ago

  • Remux VC-1 to h264 or h265 or have plex play nicely with VC-1?
Outside of that, if you're looking for better overall direct play compatibility, there are quite a few ways to reencode the video while keeping the original audio/subtitle tracks. E.g. In HandBrake, you can choose the 'XYZ Passthru' option on the audio tracks, and if you choose an MKV container, you can add all existing subtitle tracks without burning them in: https://i.imgur.com/3BAiGTS.gif. • Google is finally nagging me about exceeding my storage pool (single workspace account). What are people using now for cheap backup storage?
The A2000 goes for about 250-290€, only uses 75W and has unlimited video encoding threads (as has the P2000), while the 3060 only has a max of 5 (locked by Nvidia). I have a P2000 in my Unraid system and it could do up to 14x 4k to 1080p transcodes... And that thing is from 2017. The A2000 has 1 generation newer ENC engine and 2 generations newer DEC engine. You could also use both cards perfectly with... Source: 11 months ago
