If you want to run Bukkit plugins with Forge, there's a few options. Mhoist, Magma and Arclight all achieve the same goal of running Bukkit plugins with Forge. Mhoist and Magma have both existed longer than Arclight, however Arclight uses mixins, which can improve compatibility. Source: 12 months ago

2nd, your solution would be to use an hybrid server software like mohist or arclight but I do not recommend those, as they're unstable & some plugins could simply not work (this mixes the forge & bukkit API). I don't know if aternos has this option, but if you make a forge server, you can add a mod called forgesponge, which will allow your server to add plugins as if they were mods, although plugin compatibility... In the case where things are on the ground, a clear lag plugin or mod will help. You're on forge, I recommend converting to a Mohist server (I haven't tried to see if Mohist could be used for a client pack tho) if you can, even if you're not going to use plugins, but you can, such as clear lag. https://mohistmc.com/ it's actually better that https://spongepowered.org.
