  • MacOS tools to make your life easier
Mac Mouse Fix - To correct scroll direction of my Logitech mice. Also can assign back/forward mouse button. The Logitech official app is super bloated. Source: 7 months ago

Not tried yet but this looks quiet interesting https://mousefix.org. Source: 7 months ago
  • Is Mac OS less intuitive compared to windows?
Yup, same here. I use this open source tool https://mousefix.org/ otherwise the scrolling would drive me insane. Source: 7 months ago
  • How can i make a shortcut with these extra buttons in my mouse? I want to change between Japanese and Spanish quickly since I'm making flashcards in Anki.
You can try https://mousefix.org. I used it to configure an old Logitech mouse with some custom actions. Source: 12 months ago
  • An Open Source Mouse and Trackpad Utility for Mac
Nice! I've been using Mac Mouse Fix (https://mousefix.org/), which is also open source, to handle inverting my mouse wheel and remapping the back/forward buttons, but LinearMouse looks quite a bit more featureful. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago

  • TIL there's a fork of the unmaintained p7zip port of 7-Zip
The p7zip port of 7-Zip is several releases behind and the project seems to be abandoned. I discovered this when a large archive failed to extract with Engrampa which uses it. It reported a "Headers Error" which is due to a compatibility problem between zip format implementations. 7-Zip has a fix but the port doesn't. But there's a fork on GitHub which is being actively maintained. Check it out. Source: over 2 years ago
  • What compression tool you mainly use?
I use Engrampa. Which archive format I use depends on the use case. For example, if Windows users are involved, I usually use Rar archives. Under Linux, I usually use tar.xz. Source: about 3 years ago
