Yup, I was the author of go-micro. It was very much a standalone Go framework aka common interfaces grouped together for distributed systems development. By using interfaces they effectively became pluggable abstractions for infrastructure. It goes back to, what is a framework and what qualifies as a big framework here. I think classic rails isn't the fit, but something that's an extension of gRPC definitely works.
