If he's using an online dice roller, then it must be a multiplayer one. For example https://dddice.com - where you create a room, and he can join. If you dont like the default dice roller, have you looked at the other dice rollers that are available as extensions (see https://extensions.owlbear.rodeo/)? Currently there are three other dice rollers including dddice (https://dddice.com/). I'm old school and we still roll physical dice in person and trust to the honour system. Source: 11 months ago
