Aside from that constraint, you are free to name them whatever you like, there is no one standard, and each parser has it own naming conventions, unless you are planning to use something like LLVM. A new iMac M1 doesn't support older 32-bit apps so you're looking for an OS environment like SheepShaver that allows Intel/PowerPC Macs to run legacy pre-MacOSX apps. In your case for M2/M1 Macs to emulate a 32-bit environment... Sadly nothing like that is currently available or in development AFAIK.
