I still have to try https://ci-en.net/, https://slushe.com/, https://ko-fi.com/, https://catbox.moe/, I heard they were possible good alternatives. But I couldn't say, dunno yet. Source: 5 months ago
I did, however, remember another crowdfunding platform that may be the best of both worlds here (second highest voted so far being Patreon). Ko-fi: it offers both monthly and one-time donations as well as a store where we could sell things like early access keys or things like that. Their fees are very low as well, capping out at 5%. I needed make a question regarding the chia GUI installation on a raspberry pi 4. Sometimes the sync gets stuck for me so I go ahead and do a clean install, and use the mainnet db checkpoint from chia.net. Source: 9 months ago
They host a snapshot of the db on chia.net so you no longer have to do a full sync so you could just grab the v2 and manually update the rest of the way which shouldn't take too long (not sure on the exact time I surmise less than a day or 2- its a long time since I've had to do a resync). Yes please upgrade. you have missed a lot. install the latest version from chia.net. upgrade your database HERE. Check your wallet for a Chia Friend. Source: about 1 year ago
How is this any different than hosting the db on chia.net or github? it's still a single authority saying what the db consists of. Source: about 1 year ago
I know what you're saying and technically correct, but for all practical reasons the one on chia.net is the "official". Source: over 1 year ago
