The line visuals at the bottom are not using Mapbox. Rather they're using the open source Kepler.gl [0], (a user-friendly wrapping of the deck.gl library [1]). A world map shows where all characters are currently at and it can be controlled for the show and books by selecting the chapter or episode of interest.
