  "Regular" people don't really need FFMPEG. Regular people need tools with GUIs that have a non-generic purpose. So stuff like https://kdenlive.org/en/ that are backed by ffmpeg are (imo) superior "regular" person tools.   WRT to your second point, I wouldn't consider these fake responses because the owners are given time to approve it. It's an assistant workflow basically. Also, Google doesn't really concern about automating responses, which is why they provide API for companies to automate responses.
