  • Ask HN: Anyone know any OpenAI API alternatives?
    1. Claude by Anthropic (but, expect to wait weeks/months before getting off the waitlist, which makes their offering pretty uncompelling) 2. Cohere 3. https://inferkit.com or https://textsynth.com/pricing.html. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • hey fellas - ai generated song titles!
I used https://inferkit.com/ with a list of song titles compiled and placed on separate lines with a buffer line inbetween each one, so the ai knew where to stop. also, after every generation, I erased the previously generated titles so the ai would only take inspiration from will's song titles and not itself, which is something that I saw happen a little bit where it got stuck in a "loop" of it's own creation. • Just found an ‘ai written’ fic and I’m praying this doesn’t become a trend
I can't speak for other users, but I actually do use AI-writting as an assistant of sorts when I need inspiration. (I use InferKit's free demo). Source: over 1 year ago

  • Could the planet Jupiter fit between the Earth and the moon?
You can still play with GPT-2 here, which may give you a better idea of how alien a pattern detecting algorithm with zero ability to interact with an exterior reality that provides referents “thinks”: https://transformer.huggingface.co. Source: 11 months ago
  • GPT-3 can find paths up to 7 nodes long in random graphs
Try signing up for https://beta.openai.com/playground, I got access to GPT-3 in a couple days. For GPT-2 you can try out https://transformer.huggingface.co/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Can AIs have conversations with multiple people at once?
From GPT2: "Can AIs have conversations with multiple people at once? The answer is "yes" and "no". While it is possible to have a conversation with a single person (by communicating in text, email, etc .), it is not possible to have multiple conversations with one person at once." • Am I Just Doing This Wrong? Why Does This Not Feel Satisfying
I would look into non-authoring approaches. Gamebooks and dungeon/hex crawls are one early example. Nowadays people are experimenting with analog techniques (like using cut-ups), or computer tech that takes advantage of machine learning like (Write With Transformer (AIDungeon is the more famous/infamous one, but more are emerging). If you want to play with Transformers you can go here https://transformer.huggingface.co/ They have a really easy to use library in Python called Transformers. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
