  • What SVG editor do you recommend for iPad?
Are you looking to convert like pngs to svgs? Or actually edit the svgs? I think adobe illustrator can handle editing them and for converting, I use http://pngtosvg.com, but there are tons of other sites that will do the same thing for you ... Source: over 1 year ago

You can use PNG's.. I use pngtosvg.com to convert them to SVG's. You don't have to use that particular site.. there are tons of sites like it out there, but that one is pretty good and it's free. Just make sure that your images only use a few colors. Remember that each color will require a different cut. So you don't want to have a ton of different colors. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do I make this recipe card not look so janky on DS? Trying to make towels for family members with the recipes on them-they're handwritten by my great-grandmother, so it's important that it's "her" writing.
So tried this for you and it worked for me. Upload this image in pngtosvg.com and it'll create an SVG for you to upload in DS :) Hopefully it works for you and your project! Source: over 1 year ago
  • How can I take a 2D image of text and simple shapes and create a 3D model, basically extruding the non-transparent parts to a set depth?
I took a stab at doing it this way but ultimately it was going to take forever! I did stumble across a PNG to SVG convertor website (pngtosvg.com) that took the png and made objects out of the letters and shapes. They were really messy, lots of bad vertices and wavy lines that should have been straight or a smooth curve, but it didn't take too long to get them smoothed out. Then I fixed the faces and extruded it... Source: over 1 year ago
