  • 2 TB SSD turned to 1TB SSD by repair software, is there a way to get the files recovered?
By the sound of what happened it's possible that all files residing in the last 1TB got TRIMMed (https://www.300dollardatarecovery.com/trim/) by first aid. Can you check the corrupted videos with a hex editor (for example https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/) to see if they contain any information at all? If they got trimmed there will be large swathes of either 0xff or 0x00. Source: 6 months ago
  • Bakugan Battle Brawlers Save File Editing Helper (Wii/PS3 and potentially other console versions)
You don't need to know anything about Hex-Editing to use this. You are only required to know how to copy-paste. That being said, you will need a Hex-Editor program and to know your save-file's location. I personally use HxD: https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/. Source: 12 months ago
  • Visual Boy Advance Saving As 64KB Instead Of 128KB - Doesn't Work On Cartridge
Also, notepad is only good for editing text, not binary files. You should use a hex editor. I personally use HxD. I also found this online hex editor called HexEd.it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Can't leave, can't die.
Anyway, due to the sheer size of the saves, I'd recommend using a hex editor like HxD rather than a text editor. Hex editors typically operate on just a small buffer at any given time, so opening and paging through the file is very fast. In theory, this might slow down full-file operations like a full text search, but in practice it doesn't seem to matter in this case. I opened a 100MB save that hasn't been... When I started out, I used red hat, Suse linux, and then finally I jumped to Ubuntu, when they killed gnome and rolled out their new GUI later, I switched to Ubuntu Mate, with xfce alternatively installed. And then later came MINT. Which is based on ubuntu anyway. Source: 7 months ago
  • Windows 10 support doesn't end in 2025 after all, if you pay up
I'm partial to Linux Mint myself, but at this point, if you're not running some Windows specific software, there's less and less reason to use it every year. Source: 7 months ago
  • Introduction
My first Linux distro was PopOS and It was a refreshing experience. It was really easy to install, use, and game on. I distro hopped a few times to see what other linux flavors are like. These are the ones that I remember trying Zorin OS and Linux Mint. These ones looked mostly like windows and it was easy to use. At work, I gained most of my linux knowledge from docker and configuring / administrating RHEL... - Source: dev.to / 8 months ago

  • Why Linux Mint is the best Linux distribution
If you have been reading some of the articles on my blog, you will have seen that I often talk about macOS or the Mac Mini. And this is because this is the preferred machine that I use for the development of multiplatform apps, however, my main operating system, the one I use "by default", the one I use for personal and professional management, the one I use for my tech experiments, is, and has been for the past... - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
