Hi, I’m Kirubakaran. I’m building histre - a knowledge tool for individuals and teams. One of the features of histre is to auto-organize your knowledge. I thought that a fun way to demo that could be to apply that to the Hacker News front page. I have a few servers colocated in a datacenter for histre.com, which is a knowledge system for everyone. Histre does a lot of machine learning, and there is a GPU on the server (Tesla T4) that's often idle. I figured it can run Stable Diffusion when the GPU is idle so that people get to experience SD for free, and perhaps hear about histre too. That's not my main motivation though. Histre is a knowledge tool. It seamlessly works with your bookmarks, lets you collaborate on your online research, etc. It uses AI for various things, but behind the scenes, so that everyone can make use of it, not just people super into tech. Source: over 1 year ago

Enhance does not natively support rendering markdown into HTML, which is out of scope for the project. Instead, we rely on markdown-it, an excellent JavaScript markdown parser that is endlessly configurable with plugins. For my own static site generator, Jellybean, one feature of Docusaurus that I wanted to implement was full markdown support. This is because my static site generator previously only had partial markdown support, which is not very user-friendly. Showing them isn't limited by any API at least. They are directly taken from one of the "gif" sites, the source message for them looks like this . That is directly the syntax for markdown "Show inline image", just with a weirdly formatted URL. While the small inline image is then uploaded to reddit for faster access... Source: about 3 years ago
