Healthcare.gov VS CostPlus Drugs

I have recently immigrated to the US. I need health insurance until I find a job which provides with one. I visited healthcare.gov and it was bit confusing as some of the plans were showing up a minimum of 500$/month (49 year old). Could someone advise me whether there are cheaper options. Go to healthcare.gov and see if you qualify for insurance. Maximum out of pocket depends on the type of plan you pick and what it covers. If you don't qualify through healthcare.gov, you will need to buy insurance on your own which could be quite expensive. Source: 5 months ago

You can still get it done without insurance, it's just really expensive. It will be thousands of dollars cheaper to get insurance for a year or so and have the surgery covered than to try and pay for it out of pocket, so it's worth maybe getting insurance. I'm not posting this to r/medicare because if you get medications at online pharmacies, it's usually because they're not covered under Medicare C or D. I've tried Mark Cuban's costplusdrugs.com which for me was a waste of time. Do you buy from a Canadian mail order house, or are you just using GoodRx? Is there a reason you chose the one you use? If it's a non-stimulant like Strattera, I would recommend checking on CostPlusDrugs. They have Strattera for as low as $9.20 a month and Wellbutrin for $6.80 with a flat $5 shipping rate for all orders. It's a mail order pharmacy, and you can request refills online so long as they're already approved by your provider.
