  Im not sure what theme you are using to pair with Elementor, but I personally use WP Astra which already has Megamenu and Ajax built in. You should 100% look into this instead. It is one of the most popular themes in the market and I am happy to pass along a code for the pro version (I have unlimited/paid fully for the theme). Source: about 1 year ago
