A while back I was working with a small team and we tried out HacknPlan, and we were pretty impressed by it. I liked the integration with a design document, made it feel like it really was geared towards game devs. Our artist took to it quickly and everyone was able to fill out their own timelines with labels so we could get a nice overview of the scope of the project. Here's how to cure you from your buying habit, checkout https://steamdb.info/, check the price history of the game you're thinking of getting.
