In general, the cell bands used in the US are not supported by many Xiaomi and Redmi phones (not sure if any of them have good coverage of US bands). Check on gsmarena.com for the band coverage and then check your carrier's website for what bands they have service on. That tells you all of the core temps and package temp as well as all core thermal throttling status (yes/no). If temps are already high (circa 70/80 degrees) and/or thermal throttling status is yes then you have a problem. Give your laptop a really intensive CPU + GPU workload, for example Prime95 and Furmark simultaneously (www.mersenne.org, geeks3d.com), and monitor temperatures for CPU package and all its cores with HWiNFO (www.hwinfo.com). I run Prime95 with default settings and Furmark with my LCD panel's native resolution. Under usual room temperature, after only 5 minutes of the stress test there are CPU package at 100 deg...
