I think one of the biggest issues was just resources to see it through but also my own desire to move beyond it towards a platform and services. There are other CLI search tools for code: grep, ripgrep, etc. Or actual search tools (Sourcegraph, Github, IDEs), but I always reach for Silver Searcher/Ag. Ag is a code-searching tool similar to ack, but faster.
